Flutter: не приходят PUSH уведомления при закрытом приложении

Код фактически используется из примера https://pub.dev/packages/firebase_messaging/example При открытом приложении, PUSH уведомления приходят и отображаются, однако при закрытом - нет. Хотя судя по коду, фоновый процесс создается. Однако в логи LogCat при закрытом приложении тоже ничего не попадает, ну и соответственно пуши тоже не отображаются. Что я делаю не так?
