Я столкнулся с аналогичной проблемой, однако robotjs не работает с последними узлами и npm. мое решение было:

Удалите все (узел, npm, python)
Установите узел 12.16.1 (и обязательно выберите «автоматически устанавливать необходимые инструменты»)
в этот момент npm не сможет сказать, что ему нужна более новая версия узла (перейдите к C:\Users<ваш пользователь>\AppData\Roaming и удалите npm и npm-cache)
откройте оболочку или cmd и введите npm install -g [email protected]
установите Python версии 2.7.0 и внутри вашего терминала введите: npm config set python "C:\Python27"
откройте vscode и введите: npm i robotjs
